President and Business Development Manager of SEC. SEC offers environmental consulting services to industrial and commercial clients. Services include compliance assessments, audits, hazardous waste evaluation and training, waste minimization, EPCRA or SARA reporting, HSRA, permitting, remediation, preparation of stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) and spill prevention control and countermeasure (SPCC) plans, Corrective Action Plans (CAPs), waste evaluation and disposal guidance, pollution prevention (P2), wastewater treatment facility evaluation and compliance assistance, air emissions inventory, and phase 1 and phase 2 environmental site assessment or property transfer projects. Contractor to JEA, Jacksonville, FL 2001
Site Project Manager of the decommissioning and remediation of a JEA electric
power utility. The project included: set-up for the demolition and
deconstruction of a 41-acre site, site rehabilitation under the Florida
Brownfields Program, and construction of a new gas insulated substation (GIS).
Other contract work in 2001 included due diligence Phase 1 assessments,
development of an MS Access chemical database for industrial facility, and
sales.
Contractor - WEST VALLEY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT, West Valley, NY
1999 – 2000
Contract position as lead Environmental Engineer at a Dept. of Energy (DOE)
radioactive waste contaminated site in western NY. Focused on waste minimization
and pollution prevention activities, and options for improving the site's energy
usage. Reduced the number and quantity of hazardous waste's) disposed from the
facility, which resulted in earning a DOE Award fee. Developed MS Access
databases on waste generation, energy use, and other select areas. Provided
improvement ideas totaling $300,000 in annual savings and identified recycling
opportunities avoiding costs of over $200,000.
UNION CAMP CORPORATION, Savannah, GA (Now International Paper) 1991 –
1999
Senior Environmental Specialist
Provided corporate environmental assistance, oversight and regulatory
guidance to manufacturing facilities in eight divisions with 75 plants.
Responsibility for major environmental programs such as RCRA (solid and
hazardous waste program), TSCA, CERCLA (Superfund), EPCRA (SARA), Pollution
Prevention, underground storage tanks, EPA 33/50 program. Managed the EPA Green
Lights Pollution Prevention Program (Energy Star) within Corporation.
Instigated, developed, and conducted training programs and attended Clean Air
Act PSD training workshops. Handled corporate property acquisitions/divestitures
and their subsequent investigation and remediation activities.
Managed the selection and auditing of hazardous waste/PCB treatment, storage,
and disposal facilities (TSDFs) for treatment and disposal of hazardous and
non-hazardous waste from all Union Camp facilities. Consultant and participant
to company's internal environmental compliance auditing program. Researched and
interpreted final federal regulations and statutes and prepared comments to
proposed federal EPA regulations. Consultant to division and/or facility staff
on various environmental regulatory and policy issues and site remediation
projects. Involved in the design of computer program for development of OSHA
material safety data sheets (MSDS).
· Directed installation of high efficient lighting systems resulting in reduced
emissions from energy use and annual energy savings of $1.2 million.
· Agency enforcement against corporation for non-compliance in these programs
was substantially reduced.
· Consistently worked to find most cost effective or least burdensome solution

ENSR CONSULTING AND ENGINEERING, Westmont, IL 1987 – 1991
Senior Project Manager
Management various environmental projects involving single and multiple
property transfers, industrial compliance audits, subsurface soil and
groundwater investigations and remedial design, underground storage tank leaks,
site remediation, SARA Title III-Section 313 reporting and asbestos surveys.
Projects were generally fast-paced and required the supervision of a number of
technical support staff from multiple offices. Projects were run within budget
and on time. Business development also included in responsibilities.

MORTON THIOKOL INC., Specialty Chemicals Group, Chicago, IL 1983 - 1987
Environmental Engineer
Responsible for providing environmental assistance, oversight and regulatory
guidance to 17 domestic organic chemical manufacturing plants. This entailed the
monitoring and interpreting of federal, state and local regulations. Routinely
involved with requirements under RCRA, CERCLA, CWA, state air and water
pollution control regulations, New Jersey ECRA (Property Transfer Law), and
Illinois environmental matters involving groundwater pollution, underground
storage tank, hazardous waste, air and water pollution control and spill
prevention. Involved with remedial design of sites having soil and groundwater
contamination. Conducted compliance audits of company plants and recommended
appropriate corrective action in the event of non-compliance. Audited and
approved TSDFs prior to company use. Prepared SPCC plans, Illinois Chemical
Safety Act Plans and air permit applications.
· Guidance provided to operating facilities ensured they stayed in regulatory
compliance.
Also worked for the Milwaukee Road Railroad, Chicago, IL and the Indiana State
Board of Health in the Water Pollution Control Division. Areas of experience
included: oil, chemical and hazardous material spill investigation and
remediation, SPCC Plans, wastewater discharge (NPDES) and air permit
applications, noise-monitoring studies, inspected and monitored municipal and
industrial wastewater treatment facilities, wastewater treatment facility plans,
investigated pollution complaints and fish-kills, managed chemical spill
clean-up crews and investigative teams conducting watershed, industrial and
municipal compliance monitoring surveys, reviewed and approved State
agricultural waste land applications.
